Art on the Square

Our 59th Annual Art of the Square Art Show was held on April 27th, 2025 from 10am - 5pm on the streets of Colonial Williamsburg.

Art on the Square is one of the Junior Woman's Club of Williamsburg's principal fundraisers to support community art initiatives!

Art on the Square is a juried show that is dedicated to providing original, high quality, handcrafted and diverse mediums of art. It is located in Downtown Williamsburg, along the entire stretch of the popular Duke of Gloucester Street! The event features over 100 artists and is free and open to the public.

Proceeds from artist booth fees are donated to visual and performing arts organizations throughout the greater Williamsburg area including Williamsburg, James City and York counties. Raffle tickets, 2025 commemorative posters, and posters from previous years will be available at the JWCW tent at the intersection of Duke of Gloucester and South Henry Street.

Gulay Berryman created an original oil painting, carrying on Dick DePaul's legacy supporting the Junior Woman's Club of Williamsburg and Art on the Square. The painting is of the famous St. George Tucker House (left).

Congratulations to Laura Emery, for being the raffle winner of the original oil painting, "St. George Tucker House" generously donated by local artist, Gulay Berryman! All proceeds from this raffle benefit scholarships to local high school seniors pursuing an arts-related degree, so thank you to everyone who supported this cause by buying a ticket! Fun fact: Laura’s own daughter was awarded one of our scholarships a few years ago!

Congratulations to the artists who won first place in their categories! And thank you to all of the artists for making this an incredible event - we are excited for next year!
