International
- JWCW sponsors a child through Plan USA, an organization committed to helping children, their families and communities in 49 developing countries around the world. In addition, we send cards and small gifts to our sponsored child for Christmas and her birthday.
- JWCW donates livestock through Heifer International, a nonprofit organization that distributes twenty different kinds of food- and income-producting animals to groups of farmers in need around the world.
- JWCW collects items to donate to Orphan Helpers, a non-denominational ministry dedicated to serving the physical, spiritual, educational and emotional needs of orphaned, abused, and incarcerated children in Central America. In the past, we have donated flip flops, school supplies, and underwear.
Home Life
- JWCW holds a School Supply Drive to collect items that are donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Williamsburg
- Halloween Party and Easter Party at Dominion Village. Members and their children visit with residents while serving snacks, delivering cards and drawings, and singing songs.
- Twice a year, JWCW members host a Bingo Night at Blayton Street Senior Citizen Center.
- Holiday Giving Project: Each holiday season, JWCW sponsors a local family in need and collects presents and gift cards, as well as coordinating food items through Angel Food Ministries..
- Food Drive to benefit FISH, a volunteer organization that provided emergency help to residents in the Williamsburg area
- Meals for Members is an ongoing project that provides a meal to members who have had a baby, as well as members who have had surgery, a hospital stay, or a death in the family.
Health
- Health Topics of the Month are included in each newsletter
- Due to our fundraising efforts, we are able to donate the cost of two life-changing reconstructive surgeries for children in developing countries through Operation Smile.
