Arts and Education

The Arts & Education Committee is responsible for many of the JWCW projects that were created in order to give back to the community.

New Teacher Sponsorship
This program was designed to support local first-year teachers by providing them with gifts three times throughout the school year.

An Occasion for the Arts
JWCW provides a children's "make and take" craft table at the event which is free and open to the public.

Rita Welsh Adult Literacy Program
JWCW members collect current magazines to donate to the literacy program for student use.

First Grade Book Exchange
This program is designed to promote literacy and encourage children to read by allowing first grade students in local schools to exchange "old" books for a new or gently used book from our collection.

Books for Babies
JWCW purchases and donates books to the Williamsburg Regional Library in honor of babies born to our members during the club year.

Nan Cruikshank Scholarship
JWCW presents two college-bound high school senior scholarships based on outstanding community service.
